On the road again

I’ve been on hiatus since August 11th, for many reasons.

A short trip to Colorado.

It’s true what they say, Colorado is beautiful. We camped at 10.000 feet elevation on the banks of the Taylor River, in the Gunnison National Forest. It was 0c degrees in the morning, and around 30c midday. We chilled, played games, cooked on the open fire, walked around a bit to admire snow peaks and lush green forests. At that elevation, lifting a finger was a major undertaking.

Then Tropical Storm Franklyn showed up and dumped so much water that my internet fizzled, and it took a few days to restore.

Then the Aruba International Regatta unfolded in all its splendor and I was busy with my dream team of fantastic humans, to make this thing happen.

Besides, I was a bit bored with myself. How many times can you lecture this wonderful country’s lame government about the need to sign RAft, and get it over with, because it is false pride that prevents the officials from complying.

Was it voted on, at parliament?

How do we know that the majority is against, if it hasn’t been voted on?

KVK, AHATA, ATIA, sent out a press release blaming false pride as the reason why Aruba will be burdened with 30M florin EXTRA, each year, in interest.

How many times can I repeat myself that without RAft borrowing on the international market will be much more expensive?? This new debt represent an extra Awg 870 per island resident, which GOA, no doubt, will do its best to syphon out of our pockets.

How many times can I point out to the Minister of Energy that his frequent trips to Spain don’t fool us, we know why he goes, he just likes to zip around the globe, and hobnob with dignitaries, but why does he have to commit us to a hydrogen adventure just to justify his rubbing shoulders with  ACCIONA Energia. And why all these false promises about water and energy in the year 2050. What about here and now??

And how many times do we have to watch a repeat performance, a regurgitated beauty pageant, a la Punto Fijo 1985. Can we please see something relevant and fresh?

And the boring ruminations of Nel Oduber lamenting the Dutch government’s appetite for slavery in 2023. He writes colorfully about the political cannibalism of the Eman cabinet. Big yawn.

It is a fact that Dutch financial supervision is something that exists on paper.  Not in reality. The Dutch have not been able to save us from ourselves since the famous hunger strike, 11-7-2014. This RAft thing only lives virtually.

Proof? Our dire financial situation.

So why don’t you just sign it and continue to ignore it, as you have done all along,  only with 30M more annually, saved on interest payments, which can be invested in education.

How about that?

Anyway, I am back.

I promise to follow up on things, and revert to normal, more or less.

Congratulations, I have a new App in the App Store

Name: Bati Bleki
