Yesterday was a whirlwind

It’s hard to keep track of events, because they happen in fast succession.

Following an insistent letter, the second helping of Basha Bao investigative materials was set for a hearing in Parliament September 2nd, starring the avenging MinInfra, with lots of irregularities and botched contracts in her arsenal, ready to expose GOA’s dark side in the name of transparency, and openness.

I booked myself with popcorn in front of the TV.

Then there was a FB entry explaining we are willing to talk, we weren’t, but then we mulled things over, and we are prepared to kiss and make up, as per MinJust’s own FB page.

Then the parliamentary chairman, was recorded announcing to the press repeatedly, that the peace pipe was smoked, and all his kids are now willing to meet.

Then Knops, in a long letter, put the responsibility for Dutch-aid agreements squarely on island governments, and that the months of loitering and wasting valuable time and resources is on GOA’s conscience. Can’t blame the Dutch for ANYTHING.

Then AHATA sent a sharp letter to GOA, encouraging it to get off the pot: Aruba needs at least another Awg 682.4M for 2020 and at least Awg 579M in 2021, to cover its expected deficit. And more funds are needed for investment and economic recovery; without loans of Awg 1.26B GOA cannot pay its employees or fund its programs, in the next year and a half, including SVB and AZV.

Then the POR party board quit, retired, and Andin Bikker aborted his political career.

What can we say? You cannot make this poop up.

All above earth-shattering development crammed into just one day.

Such kindergarten, such lack of maturity, let alone political responsibility, such inflated egos, it’s all about me, me, me at government level.

And the fear of going to jail. Someone is afraid. Very afraid.

I will let you fill in the blanks.

When you make a deal with the devil, you burn in hell.

That whole POR porkeria was doomed from the start, how could we believe that such three ego-driven personalities could get together to lead. NO POR.

They just dug our hole deeper.

Later POR announced they have distanced themselves from their former leader and are looking for new people to fill in the seats. What are we? An experiment? Are you serious? I have three intelligent dogs at home, they sit on command, can they apply?

And we can’t realistically tell POR to GO HOME, we need a government, to conclude the Dutch-aid agreement.

If the MinPres doesn’t get hold of things, she will go down in history the way Mike Eman did, an ok person, who totally failed to rein in and restrain his ministers, letting them run amok, on their own agendas.

I have a heavy heart.
