World Clean Up Day observed in Aruba

A group of colleagues from the Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa ventured out on Saturday, during morning hours to scour the area adjacent to the California Dunes, in honor of World Clean Up Day. They brought family members along to help collect marine debris from the much-visited stretch of beach below the famed lighthouse.

Their mission to care for the island’s fragile marine and coastal environment is supported by Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, an official partner of a global action titled World Cleanup 2012, in which various volunteer groups and organizations clean up refuse in nearly 100 countries, raising awareness to the subject of environmental protection worldwide.

Pictured here the Radisson volunteers showing community involvement, shouldering their share of the clean-up, safeguarding natural resources. Group members report they learned a valuable lesson about the impact of marine and coastal debris and are giving thought to ways and means to prevent their spread. They also had fun in the process, says Angelique Croes, Human Resources Manager, who joined the clean up team of colleagues.
