Eagle beach — Alex Nieuwmeyer, Managing Director, Divi All Inclusive Resorts enjoyed the distinct pleasure of organizing, hosting and attending a traditional Spantenbier celebration for Vista III, a new resort wing, where beer was poured on the roof rafters to signify that construction has reached its highest point.
In April 2015, Divi All Inclusive Aruba commenced the construction of 60 more resort rooms. In the spirit of the time, the 60 new rooms are environmentally friendly, and represent the best green technologies available in the construction industry to date.
Each of the new rooms is graced with a patio or balcony overlooking the azure blue Caribbean. The rooms are clustered around two large multi-leveled pools. The rooms enjoy contemporary, luxurious décor, and the building was given a number of unique features in order to give guests an elegant sense of arrival with a modern porte cochere, a nicely appointed lobby, with elevators to service the floors, and a fully staffed reception.
The method of construction utilized for the construction of Vista III revolutionizes the way buildings are designed on the island, by introducing Nudura foam blocks, which help deliver comfortable, safe and energy efficient living spaces. The hollow foam blocks are filled with cement on site, making the walls 40 centimeter thick, resulting in cooler environments, in spite of the hot climate outside. The new rooms will be energy efficient, operating optimally with low capacity, and low cost air conditioning, while hot water will be supplied via 100KW solar water heaters on the roof. The windows in the new Vista III wing are all double glass insulated.
The new building method, says Alex Nieuwmeyer, Managing Director is solid and very fast, resulting in total construction time for the new rooms from groundbreaking to occupancy, of just eight months.
In preparation for more guests the resort has just added another a la carte Mexican restaurant which brings the total of eateries to 5 a la carte restaurants, 2 buffet restaurants and 2 pizza bars, from which guests may choose every day, during their vacation.
Vista III was designed by local Architect Orlando Hoevertz, with Electrical Engineering by Leon Hamers. The construction was undertaken by Divi Resorts and El Tumi NV, with Sparks Electric as the electrical contractor, and Fire Systems by Robertson. Elevators were supplied by by Carl Elevators Aruba NV, and the new pools designed by Glen Renfrum.
