Palm Beach, Aruba – RIU Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Vanessa Fernandez as General Manager. Drawing on more than a decade of experience, Fernandez is responsible for all operations at the iconic beachfront property.
Although new to the island of Aruba, Fernandez has been a part of the RIU Hotels & Resorts family for 10 years, including her role as an assistant manager at Riu Palace Macao (Dominican Republic) and Riu Cancun (Mexico), and as director at both Riu Jalisco (Mexico) and Riu Negril (Jamaica).
Now, as General Manager of Riu Palace Aruba, Fernandez will share her wealth of tourism knowledge and experience with the beautiful island of Aruba. In addition to speaking Spanish and English, Fernandez is also fluent in Portuguese and German, allowing her to provide an exceptional experience to a diverse range of visitors.
Fernandez graduated from the University of Asturias with a degree in tourism, and attended the Catholic University of Ávila in Spain where she received a degree in Economics and Business. She then went on to earn her Masters Degree in Quality Management.
