The Turtle Cove offers tropical lunch in town

dsc04682At the end of a shopping spree in town, The Turtle Cove is an excellent spot to restore and refresh, right in the heart of Oranjestad.

Located on the second floor of Aruba’s central bus terminal the colorful tropical café offers genuine Caribbean recipes in a most-charming alfresco setting, with caring and courteous service, easy-on-the-pocket prices.

Well-known foodie, Jose Lacle is at the helm of the eatery, he’s always had an ardent and defined interest in food especially Creole and regional seafood preparations.

The delicious offerings on The Turtle Cove menu are directly related to his cuisine preferences featuring a refreshing change, Caribbean Coconut Shrimp, lightly sautéed in garlic & butter, swimming in coconut sauce, not battered, not fried, just crunchy shrimp, in a sweet shredded coconut sauce with cilantro!

And the Fish & Seafood list features as many as one dozen mouthwatering selections, which speak louder than words about his fondness of the bounty of the sea.

Fish in Creamy Garlic, Caribbean Lobster, Fish Cakes, and the beloved Aruban Style Fish are served with rice, steamed vegetable and plantains, naturally.

Light appetizers, hearty soups, colossal salads, Fajitas, Quesadillas and a most-satisfying Land Aficionados section – try the Curry Mango Chicken, it’s yummy – round up the menu. And the Fried Cheese Cake is a standout dessert, served with a cool scoop of vanilla ice cream.

The airy, comfortable bar shows sports on TV most hours of the day paired with an ongoing $2 beer happy-hour.

The café enjoys ample parking, right below, at the central bus stop.

It doesn’t get any better than that.
