The resort is by tradition the home-away-from-home for the Royal Dutch family and in the past on several occasions Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, crown Prince Willem-Alexander and his beautiful Argentinean-born wife, Princess Maxima, and other members of the royal family as well as members of the Dutch government cabinet enjoyed the Radisson’s genuine brand of hospitality.

The royals were on the island on an official visit, they were escorted by a large Dutch delegation, and as they were checking out of their hotel the Princess gave a gift to Lily Polsbroek, Senior Sales Manager, in appreciation of the excellent service they received while her husband gave “thumbs up” to Chef Martin Smeets, who prepared all royal meals during the five-day stay, together with the resort’s culinary team.

Also in the lobby to bid the Princess farewell the island’s governor who walked her out to her car, where she personally thanked General Manager Gary Jutz for all the attention she received and enjoyed, as the resort managers and associates lined up to wave her goodbye.
