The Rotary Club Golf Tournament

Tierra del Sol’s Head Golf Pro Oliver Riding welcomed 140 golf players to the Rotary Club Charity Golf Tournament on Saturday. The funds raised via the tournament will be used for children’s sport activities around the island, he explained, and Tierra del Sol is always happy to cooperate with the local service clubs, raising funds for much-needed community work.

The midday shotgun start marked a day of play culminating with an award ceremony in the early evening hours. The hole-in-one contest offered an elegant Mercedes Benz C280 on hole #13, as well as many other prizes for the longest drive women, longest drive men, and closest-to-the-pin.

Tierra Del Sol is an 18-holes championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. It is a unique desert course with an ocean view.  The target-style design and constant trade winds provide challenges that keep golfers coming back time after time. Pros like Jim Colbert, Ray Floyd, Dave Stockton, J.C. Snead and Walter Morgan have all played at Tierra Del Sol since its opening in January 1995.
