The Radisson Concierges Enjoy Great Dinner at the Sunset Grille Restaurant

The Radisson concierge team under the guidance of Germaine Wever, Plaza Club Manager, was invited by Gerard Coste Director of Food & Beverage for dinner at the newly refreshed Sunset Grille Restaurant, at the Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa.

The award-winning resort has just recently completed its overall property refresh with the re-opening of the Aruba Tower and the Sunset Grille Restaurant.

The refresh was part of an extensive USD 26 million renovation project which began in April 2010 and included refurbishing the 355-room three guestroom towers and key public areas.  The refreshed décor in the AAA Four Diamond Sunset Grille Restaurant with a new color scheme and furnishings also embrace new furnishings and seating in the Mira Solo Martini Bar.

The hard working Radisson concierges were invited to experience the restaurant first hand, dining over the finest selection of USDA Certified Angus Beef and amazingly fresh seafood, all prepared under the watchful eye of the resort’s culinary artists, with chef Kien Fat Lie Kwie, at the helm.

Chef Lie Kwie recently joined the Radisson culinary brigade and found a home at the Sunset Grille Restaurant where he will be collaborating with Executive Chef Hector Espinoza.

Born in Surinam, Chef Lie Kwie arrived here at the age of six.  Raised on the island, he also studied Culinary Arts here, starting as a cook-helper, almost 3 decades ago. Chef Lie Kwie spent twenty years at the Renaissance Aruba Resort before venturing on his own to open a small local takeout business.  But the hotels kept tugging on his heartstrings, and he finally decided to return to his roots, accepting the challenge of work in the kitchen of the famed Sunset Grille Restaurant.

Chef Lie Kwie is well-respected on the island for his vast culinary knowledge, his fine taste and superb mastery of international dishes. Nicknamed Chino, he is a terrific addition to the Radisson already stellar line up of culinary specialists.
