The Women’s Shelter received more than 500 items, collected by the students of the International School of Aruba during last month.
The items will benefit clients of the shelter, which is supported by a not-for-profit local foundation named “Women in Difficulty.”
Among items donated are toiletries such as soap bars, creams and shampoos, which will be used to make welcome baskets for the just-arrived clients of the shelter.
The “toiletry drive” was organized as a community charity event, as part of the students’ curriculum, as they were challenged to raise awareness in the student community.
In preparation for International Women’s Day, celebrated throughout the world on March 8th the community is hereby reminded there is “no Excuse for Abuse,” and that the community is obligated to support women in their quest for a better life, not just for them but also for their children.
