The Hilton Wellness Media Event erases all my wrinkles

The Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino did not forget the members of the media, and on the occasion of an ordinary day, last week, invited a number of hard working news-ferrets for an exclusive wellness journey, featuring treatments from efora spa followed by sunset yoga on the beach, paired with a sparkling sunset.

The marketing team totally transformed an area of the ballroom into a Balinese spa, with bamboo beams and white gauze curtain-panels, and we were asked to travel from station to station, for sample treatments, starting with a hand cleansing ritual, through a hand-massage, HyperVolt percussion treatment, head & scalp rub, Nuface therapy, Sound Bowls and Reiki energy healing, concluding the ballroom trip with the balancing of my chakras by famed yoga master, Maria Pucci.

We were later greeted on the beach by yoga teacher Vicky Lovera, for a guided meditation and wrapped up the lovely afternoon by sitting in a half circle on baby blue Adirondack chairs, enjoying lightly seared tuna on skewers, live oysters on the half shell, and ceviche in a cactus bowl. Fantastic light food, over bottomless flutes of bubbly. The sunset was spectacular.

It was what I call a strenuous afternoon.

What was my favorite?

We talked about it on the beach, went around in a circle trying to pinpoint exactly what we liked best!

The hand cleansing ritual? Using Aruba Aloe products, my hands were thoroughly sanitized with hand soap, Aloe hand scrub, hand sanitizer and hand lotion, redefining clean.

The hand massage? With dermatologist-recommended Aruba Aloe and Babor beauty products, infused with potent natural ingredients my hands received replenished hydration like never before, and were left just silky smooth.

The HyperVolt percussion treatment? This definitely qualified as a highlight. Imaging the Hypervolt Percussion balls, powered by award winning Quiet Glide™ technology, pounding, kneading, hammering, then tapping, my stressed-out back, conquering muscle cramps, promoting circulation, and relieving tension, as if it never existed. Hypervolt, is a popular massage device at the spa; it is designed to alleviate sore areas, and soothe muscle tightness. It does.

Head & Scalp rub? That was a deliciously gentle treat. My head loved it, all nerve-ends tingled and glowed.

Nuface therapy? Just like magic. NuFace Eye-Lifter and NuFace Wrinkle Reducer, totally ironed out my face, wrinkles I worked years to develop disappeared in the area around the eyes! The magical NuFace wands use soft wave micro-currents to deliver subtle stimulation, and provide the face with a non-invasive solution to improved appearance. It works.

Sound Bowls and Reiki Energy Healing? Different and ethereal. The Tibetan bowl sound heals and enchants, it is used to reduce stress and calm minds into a meditative state. My therapist told me he saw a rainbow of colors, my Chakra were wide awake and focused, my brainwaves tuned to a gentle frequency. I was determined to restore a deep sense of well-being.

Chakra balancing with famed yoga master Maria Pucci? Did you know we have 7 energy centers each represented by another color, all contributing positively to a feeling of calm and a state of harmony?

Now you know.

On the beach, each of the invited media members posed on her private mat facing the ocean. We were little islands of serenity as Vicky took us through a series of stretches to Shavasana, meaning just lying there, flat on our backs, blissful and mushy, until my unexpected, and extremely embarrassing snoring-sound woke me up.

This relaxation business works.
