The Expanded iStore is Now Open

Ponton — Local entrepreneur Milo Croes Jr. first opened a small iStore in last year, and managed to grow rapidly, to a mega store, also successfully evolving from an Apple Authorized Reseller to an Apple Specialist and an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

The opening of the new iStore at the original address, Ponton 67B, unit 5, was honored by Milo Croes Sr. considered the Father of Aruba’s Carnival. We value older people, Milo Jr. explained, as he watched his father Milo Sr. cut the ribbon.

The construction for the iStore was completed in record time, Croes Jr. explains, and the facility was beautifully designed by his son Jouel, of Croes Architecture Studio N.V.

The new space is almost four times bigger, and spreads over two floors, carrying the complete Apple product line, including desktops, portables, laptops, iPods, iPads and accessories. The store boasts a Genius Bar, an inventory room, and an educational center where clients may learn how to use the technology, and familiarize themselves with its amazing range of capabilities.

The high-tech looking store with simple architecture, large glass panes and skylights, is a reflection’s of the Apple philosophy marrying function with contemporary aesthetics. Equipped with a state of the art security system, and graced with ample parking, the store will be expecting clients 9am to 6pm, and in December, the iStore will be open on Sunday from 10am to 12noon.

The new store was originally announced at an Apple Summit in the Dominican Republic, when Milo J. Croes was invited to that special gathering joining 27 of Apple’s regional partners. Croes shares that as Aruba’s Apple Outright Service Provider he was selected to attend the Apple Specialist Program and took advantage of the important meeting to surprise his colleagues with the great news from Aruba.

Apple fans and die-hards can’t wait to see the new selection of ingenious Apple designed and created iPods, Mac laptops and desktop computers, the OS X operating system and Mountain Lion available as well as the revolutionary New iPad. Other high-end brands will also be available including Beats by Dr Dre, Belkin Electronics, Griffin Technology, and Harman Kardon designed to please music lovers.

The iStore interviewed over 30 candidates for employment, out of which ten were chosen all technology savvy kids, ages 15 to 19, who will be helping clients at the store with their purchases and set-ups.

The iStore in Aruba is not like any other store. Usually Apple INC owns and operates the famous concept stores, careful about handing out licenses to individuals from far-away places. But Milo Croes Jr. managed to convince the Apple INC officials that he is a worthy entrepreneur, and that by itself is a big deal, how he dared to dream and triumphed.
