The Clown Doctors are active

On November 20th, which is World Children’s Day and the 8th anniversary of the Clown Doctors in Aruba, the organization will launch a spectacular fund-raising activity at Paseo Herencia. A huge ice cube measuring over 7 meters will be on display in a temperature controlled tent, with a diamond frozen into the ice. The general public will be asked to place bets, against a small donation to the Clown Doctors, guessing what time the diamond would hit the floor. The Clown Doctors will be soliciting weekend stays, dinners, cash, and gift certificates from the community to reward winners with attractive prizes. Please contribute to this worthy cause. The Clown Doctors entertain ailing children in the hospital and visit the elderly in the old folk’s homes bringing laughter and human contact to the infirm. They also visit children with special needs and the handicapped in government institutions. Some radio stations and print media already volunteered air and ad space to publicize the event. Since the ice cube will melt in just a few days, the public is encouraged to visit as soon as the fun is announced. The diamond in the cube was generously donated by Kristie’s Jewels & Sparkles, it is a round brilliant cut diamond, which weighs 1.29 karats and is set in a yellow gold pendant with a 14 karats yellow gold necklace!
Please join the sponsors supporting the event, among them the Marriot Aruba Resort, Riu Palace, Yemanja and Que Pasa restaurants, all the shops of Paseo Herencia. Parents mark your calendars: Saturday and Sunday November 22 and 23, children’s activities at Paseo Herencia will include Breakfast Cinema, combined with a marathon of spinning, games and cartoon characters, in collaboration with “Living Healthy Club,” “Step by Step,” and “Pierrewietjes.”
