The Aruba Tourism Authority presents Autentico, Aruba’s Culinary Festival, 2024

The week of October 7th to October 13th, 2024, is dedicated to Aruba’s Culinary Festival. Locals and visitors, are invited to experience authentic offerings, by Aruba’s top chefs, highlighting the island’s gastronomic talent, and diversity.

The festival provides a unique opportunity to explore the rich variety of dishes served by island restaurants. Locals and visitors may discover new favorite restaurants, flavors, and styles, and appreciate the island’s culinary tradition and cultural complexity.

With more than one hundred nationalities living on the island, the event promises to become a celebration of celebrated heritage and communal identity.

Aruba’s Food & Beverage experts will be on display, supported by the culinary students of both EPB and EPI schools. Together, they will further position Aruba as an international culinary destination.

 

Autentico Aruba Culinary Festival features two components:

Autentico Restaurant Week: Monday, October 7th to Friday, October 11th. Participating local restaurants will present special menus and unique offerings, published on the event calendar. @Autenticofestival

Wilhelminastraat Culinary Festival:  Saturday, October 12th and Sunday, October 13th. The street festival unfolds in historic Wilhelminastraat, downtown Oranjestad, allowing locals and visitors the opportunity to enjoy a variety of food and drink served at different booths, illustrating the world of gastronomy, represented here by top restaurants.

The highlights of Autentico Food Festival are two event taking place at the end of the main street on Plaza Nikki Habibe, Bartenders’ Brawl and Iron Chef Aruba.

What can be expected during the events?

Bartenders’ Brawl on Saturday October 12th, is the sixth edition of this event. Eight bartenders will compete to present a unique original cocktail, on behalf of Aruba’s liquor purveyors.

Iron Chef, on Sunday, October 13th, is the third edition of this event. Three local chefs will compete for the coveted title, preparing a three-course meal, assisted by culinary students from EPB and EPI. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be travelling to the USA to further their culinary knowledge, as prizes for their excellent performance.

During both nights, the public is invited to taste and sip the offerings of the island’s restaurants, along Wilhelminastraat and Columbustraat, where booths will be set up, each serving two specialty dishes at an attractive price. There will be several places along the route, where guests may enjoy music, sit, relax, and enjoy the action on the street, shut for traffic, in honor of the event.

For tickets go to www.autenticofestival.com. With the purchase of a Weekend Pass, at Awg 54, a credit of Awg 30, will be made available on the admission wrist bracelet, to be used towards food and drink at the festival.

A Day Pass, at Awg 36, will get a credit of Awg 20, on the admission wrist bracelet. Beside credit towards food & drink, admission to the Bartenders’ Brawl and Iron Chef competitions, is included.

Unused credit will be donated to a worthy cause.
