A most enjoyable evening at the Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa brought together locals and visitors for the annual Sweetheart’s Ball in the Grand Caribbean Ballroom. Hosted by Friends of the Handicapped an organization consisting of repeat visitors to the island, the gala affair featured a sumptuous dinner, personally overseen by the resort’s Director of Food & Beverage Gerard Coste, dancing with NBO, a popular local band, and a jewelry raffle for a gorgeous diamond ring courtesy of Noble Jewelers and the Malwani family who supports the cause generously each year.
Friends of the Handicapped distributed over one million florins over the years to local foundations dedicated to the welfare and care of the physically, mentally and intellectually challenged, and will again make donations this year, at the end of its fund raising season. The activity concluding this year’s program will take place on Thursday February 25th, a giant bingo fund raising drive at the Renaissance Convention Center offering big cash prizes.

Local gala sponsors included the Salamander Holdings family of fine stores, Elsa’s Flower Shop, major liquor purveyors, such as Romar Trading, TEC, Casa Haime, Aruba Trading Company & Playa Liquor, and many of the island’s resorts, car rentals and restaurants.
