In November of 2007, T.H. Palm & Company, one of the most popular and colorful stores on Palm Beach, made a decision to earmark a portion of its sales’ revenue to six local not-for-profit foundations, helping them via regular monetary donations, and giving back to the community, in the words of the ancient Kabala, making Tikkun Olam, helping in the repair of the world. Shoppers at T.H. Palm & Company were asked to pick their favorite charity from a list of excellent local projects and Centro Kibrahacha, made the top six. Beginning with the first of November 2007, T.H. Palm & Company started holding back a portion of its income and this week, the second seasonal donation was handed over to chief coordinator Diana Uchtman and activities director Femmie Fingal by company associates Rowena Banal, Shirley Blanche, Gina Gonzales Ayo and Josephine Lerio, mid bingo and domino games at the center. This foundation for Aruba’s elderly was born on February 24th, 1983 as an initiative of the Aruba Rotary Club with the goal of creating a recreational center. On September 9th, 1985 the doors of Centro Kibrahacha were opened at Piedra Plat. Centro Kibrahacha helps maintain the physical and mental health of the elderly and improves their quality of life. The center offers the elderly a place to meet people of their same age and enjoy a happy day of recreational activity. This aids in avoiding loneliness at home and assists them in maintaining social contacts. Centro Kibrahacha is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon and the members are offered bus transportation once a week. Everyone is invited to drop by and see the modern facilities, and the beautiful gardens. You can help make a difference just by shopping at T.H. Palm & Company.
