Ruben Goedhoop finds a new employer

I said it will back-fire and it did. Ruben Goedhoop, the former AZV CEO, who was stupidly fired by MinTvs over a dialysis-patient transportation dispute, is back, hired by the Dutch, to work for the Netherlands in Aruba and oversee reforms, dictated in the aid agreement.

His official title, Liaison Hervormingen Aruba, leaves no room for doubt, he will be the reform coordinator.

The Dutch really scored. They got a qualified numbers man, with a sterling reputation, and immense knowledge of the inner workings, of the inner sanctum.

MinTvs should have seen it coming when he fired the man. Because the stuff in Ruben’s head is very valuable, what he knows is priceless.

So, consider his stint in local government circles a learning experience, his real work starts now, in the service of the Dutch, trying to reform, improve and streamline our wasteful ways.

He who laughs last, laughs best.
