An evening dedicated to sparkling wines and Champagne was recently hosted by Romar Trading at La Bodega, wine shop, on Gutenberstraat 4. The evening concluded a series of wine pairings hosted by the company’s Wine Artists, over the course of the past twelve months.
The evening’s mystery chef was no other than Romar Trading executive Monique Bouwer, who multi-tasked in the miniature kitchen to present a truly delectable array of hors d’oeuvres, such as Tuna Tartar, Sautéed Prawns, Smoked Salmon, Pumpkin Soup, Garlic Escargot, Sundried Tomato Quiche, assorted Dutch cheeses, chocolates and mini oliebollen.
Wine artist Clive Faustin served as the sommelier, popping a variety of Champagnes and Sparkling Wines from Italy, Argentina, Chile & France, such as Torresella, Prosecco; Trivento, Brut Nature; Conch Y Toro, Sparkling Wine; Banfi, Brut; Castillero Del Diablo, Brut; Laurent Perrier Brut and Laurent Perrier, Cuvee Rose.
A grateful crowd of wine lovers appreciated every sip of bubbly and every master-piece nibble presented by the chef for the day.
