Palm Beach, Aruba – During the month of November the Riu Palace Aruba welcomed 11 EPB students of the Hospitality & Tourism sector to serve as interns in the resort’s kitchen. The students worked closely with Executive Chef Valerio Rodriguez and his culinary team to complete the course of their internship, which is required by their school before graduating.
EPB’s Hospitality & Tourism unit faced the challenge of placing 90 students among several different kitchens on the island. Executive Chef Valerio Rodriguez agreed to mentor 11 students, which was the highest number of students placed in any other kitchen on the island.
“We are so grateful to you and your organization,” says an Internship Coordinator at the EPB unit of Hospitality & Tourism. “Riu Palace Aruba’s commitment, knowledge and experience continue to help shape the future professionals of the industry,” he added.
General Manager Richard Velasco was astonished by each of the student’s competence when handling and preparing the food for the resort’s guests. The Riu Palace Aruba is honored to have had the privilege, and will continue to mentor future professionals of the food and beverage industry.
