Register Now for the 6th Annual Diabetes Run & Walk

Next week Sunday, November 12, the 6th edition of the Diabetes Run & Walk will take place at Botica Eagle, where participants will run together to raise funds for Jump18. The Run & Walk, presented by Botica di Servicio, Royal Aruba Aloe, and Subway, is almost sold out, so make sure to register now at www.diabetesrunaruba.com!

Jump18 is an organization of healthcare professionals in Aruba, led by a pediatrician who has developed a practical initiative to empower children and their parents to improve their health and well-being. Jump18’s objective is to help both children and parents live a healthier life by (re)educating and challenging their limiting beliefs. Dr. Jamiu Busari, along with his team of professionals, collaborates to provide a 6-month program for children, offering workshops on healthy eating, staying active, and other workshops to bring a better quality of life to both children and their families.

Through this event, the organization can raise funds for initiatives that promote the prevention of diabetes and also educate individuals with diabetes on how to manage and prevent this condition more effectively. Not only that, but it also aims to encourage and raise awareness among the people of Aruba regarding both type 1 and type 2 diabetes and how they can be managed and prevented.

Diabetes continues to be a serious issue on the island of Aruba, with the percentage of people with diabetes being almost double the global population percentage with the condition. Half of the diabetes patients are not even aware that they have the condition and do not receive the necessary medical attention. For several years, Botica di Servicio, along with other organizations, has been working tirelessly to raise awareness about diabetes on the island of Aruba.

This year, Diabetes Run & Walk 2023 is expecting to welcome 1,500 individuals to participate in the sixth edition and thereby contribute to the cause of diabetes on the island of Aruba and work towards preventing diabetes among our children.
