The Radisson Aruba Resort, Casino & Spa hosted its annual Charity Golf Classic this weekend at Divi Links.
In the past few years the tournament has been successful in raising thousands of dollars for charities such as Imeldahof Children’s Home, the Wilhelmina Cancer Fund and the World Childhood Foundation.
Divi Links — This year’s Charity Golf Classic benefited Wilhelmina Cancer Fund, which helps cancer patients on the island, providing everything from counseling to nursing assistance, free of charge. Also receiving funds from the tournament the World Childhood Foundation, an international organization championed by her Royal Highness Silvia, Queen of Sweden. The foundation believes that every child has a right to a childhood blessed with security, joy, playfulness and curiosity about life, and raises funds to support the under privileged.
The tournament started at 9:30 am on Saturday, and also offered a cocktail reception at the end of two 9-hole rounds of golf
Winners enjoyed plenty of prizes including weekend stays, dinner certificates and spa treatments, as well as a special surprise.
