Pilates, a physical fitness system developed almost one hundred years ago, which gained immense popularity a number of years ago in the USA, arrived in Aruba at Body & Sol Spa at Tierra del Sol. It is estimated that more than 11 million people practice the discipline regularly around the globe.

Pilates focuses on the core postural muscles which help keep the body balanced and which are essential to providing support for the spine.

Pilates exercises teach awareness of breathing and the alignment of the spine, and aim to strengthen the deep torso muscles.

The method is related Aerobic exercises and to Yoga.
