Paseo Herencia announces the first student athlete of the “Gift of Education & Sports USA Edition” program

Paseo Herencia picked Zaïr Croes as the first student athlete eligible for the “Gift of Education & Sports USA Edition.” This is a new initiative that combines the great commitment of Paseo Herencia to help our young athletes with their education and involvement in sports.

For more than 9 years, Paseo Herencia has been helping the Aruban community through its “Gift of Education” program. Last year, Paseo expanded its efforts to help the community by introducing “Gift of Sport,” a program that supports young athletes with expenses in international competitions.

This year, inspired by EducationUSA’s HENA Expo, Paseo Herencia launched the “Gift of Education & Sports USA Edition,” scholarship. This is specifically to support a student-athlete to cover educational expenses and give them the opportunity to continue developing in both their studies and their sport in the United States.

To apply, athletes are asked to submit complete sports and academic CV, and their college admission letter. The committee evaluates all applications and their letters outlining their plans and ambitions and decides based on achievements in both education and sports, with the requirement that they must be part of their future school’s sports team.

After an extensive evaluation, Paseo Herencia selected Zaïr Croes as the first student-athlete to receive that scholarship. Zair will attend Emmanuel University (EU) in Georgia, Atlanta and will be part of The Lions triathlon team.

Paseo Herencia wishes Zaïr Croes every success with his studies and sports and hopes to continue inspiring more young people to continue to excel.
