• In preparation for World Tourism Day, the Minister of Tourism, Transportation and Labor, Otmar Oduber, visited various local resorts, among them the Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa, sharing his vision for the island with members of management and staff congregated in the Grand Caribbean Ballroom. With 90% of Aruba’s economy dependent on tourism the minister reiterated his committment to imroved services and products and expressed his belief that tourism can be a driver of change on all fronts: social, cultural, political and environmental. He also presented general manager Willem Plegt with a detailed document of the ministry’s visión for 2013.

  Themed “Tourism and Sustainable energy, powering sustainable development,” World Tourism Day was celebrated widely on the island.
