Onederful Celebration

We spend a weekend last May at the brand new Radisson Blu, and enjoyed its stylish look and services.

Yesterday we went back to celebrate a ONEderful year since opening, and toasted a flute of bubbly with handsome General Manager Luigi Wix, Sales and Marketing Diva Shareska Gutierrez = wearing a Queen Maxima blue dress, and former police lieutenant, Director of Operations Paul Seute, on the roof top, Sunset Bistro Terrace.

It is windy up there, but the spectacular infinity pool and the bird’s eye view of that corner of Palm Beach is truly unique, and a front row to sunset pyrotechnics.

Shareska reports the resort has been very well received among Europeans, and just before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the resort, under the flag of a popular European brand, played host to many Russian and Ukrainian visitors, who rushed to settle their stays before their credit cards, affected by the bank sanctions, stopped working — just in case you thought the war has zero influence on our world.

The resort also enjoys a great following among African American visitors who appreciate the proximity to restaurants and clubs, sleeping in until late in the morning, lunching half way through the afternoon, and staying up to the wee hours.

Families enjoy the free form, never-ending, zero entry ground level pools, with lots of shallow kid wading spaces, and adult areas. The elongated warm whirlpool, is also a distinct feature, big enough to accommodate a great number of relaxation seekers.

All guests adore the spectacular king size beds, 50-inch HDTVs, with in-room entertainment options, and the spacious feel of the two-bedroom resort suites.

It is apparent, that the Radisson Blu, used its time wisely to establish its presence in a diverse number of markets and is performing well, under the leadership of a resident owner, an architect, with little hotel background, but very good taste in furnishings and design.

Incidentally, the architect in charge of custom building the furniture for the FireLake Grill & Cocktail Bar, is in house, taking measures, and will deliver the complete restaurant package to be revealed in the second half of 2022, if all goes well. A Peruvian-born chef has already come on board, and judging from the individual ceviche we were serve, and the canapés, he is not your average restaurant chef.

At the party, a special martini bar mixed and poured imaginative, blue martinis, Blu-Tini, while a DJ entertained invited guests, live.

Luigi, who has been at the resort for two years, reports he is ready to write a book about his adventures at the helm of a brand new property through the last pandemic years, and that it is surely guaranteed to become a best seller.

The next few months will be very good for us, and Aruba, he says, we offer great value to visitors and they reciprocate by booking, longer stays.
