One of Aruba’s most original culinary experiences may be found at the Screaming Eagle Restaurant on Eagle Beach. The restaurant conceived by the team that made the Flying Fishbone in Savaneta so popular, created a trendy South Beach style décor, and perfectly matched it with French fusion boutique-cuisine, complemented by a well stocked wine cellar with over 100 feted labels on the list, and an equally impressive bar list of over 120 cocktails from around the world.
The menu scours the globe for our favorite foods and presents them in innovation and unusual combinations. Enjoy Ahi Tuna tartare with fried soft shell crab, wakame salad and spicy papaya mayonnaise as an appetizer, Alaskan Snow Crab meat and Claws on salad “Ã la grecque” with light tzaziki dressing or Caribbean Baby Rock Lobster Salad, which heaps young lettuce, pitahaya cactus fruit and infused lobster oil. The Screaming Eagle pays tribute to the classics in the form of Escargots de Bourgogne, with fresh herb butter and toast points and Lobster Bisque, in its richest & creamiest version.
For main courses try the Screaming Eagle’s Fresh Local Fish, given a novel twist when escorted by Shrimp Ginger Risotto, green asparagus and creamy Cajun sauce. The restaurant’s legendary Thai Caramelized Black Tiger Shrimps is matched with saffron paella and artichoke and the desirable match up, USDA Black Angus Tenderloin, is topped with shiitake pine nut sauce, mashed potatoes and green asparagus.
The ultimate dessert, La Tazza Famossa, a chocolate made cup and saucer filled with Tia Maria and orange sherbet and topped with chocolate mousse, is truly a sublime creation. And the recently introduced flambé cart, positioned tableside for a dramatic preparation, makes everything from Dover Sole to crepes Suzette even more spectacular since you can now see the dish and smell it, as it simmer on the geridon, prepared the old fashion way, by a French-trained maitre D’.
