Official Results, Aruba Body Building & Powerlifting Association, National Championships

Body Building 09 (1)The National Championships that took place at the Westin Aruba Resort Grand Ballroom on Saturday night, delivered excellent results as reported by jury representative Ed Malone.

In the Ladies Body Figure category Jeanette Keith was the absolute winner with Nizanna Solognier coming in 2nd, and Michelle Portier, 3rd.

The Ladies Body Building title went to veteran body-builder Sharine Ignacio.

In the Men’s Mr Aruba Beginners, short class, the absolute winner was Alvin Quandus, with Kevin Lacle, Jose Corona, Markenzie Gabriel & Erwin Lont as the runner-ups.

In the Men’s Mr Aruba Beginners, tall class, the absolute winner was Emile Thiel with Rignald Rafael, Vladimir De Palm, Lee John Figaroa & Andries Juliana as runner-ups. The overall winner in the Men’s Mr Aruba Beginner category was Emile Thiel while the Men’s Mr Aruba 2009 overall trophy went to Hemradj Mulai. Additional prizes were won for Men’s best poser by Rignald Rafael and Men’s best legs by Emile Thiel.

Ceremony emcee Wendy Lacle acknowledged athlete Giovanni Arendsz, who won a top title in the Netherlands and in Europe this year, in the Masters and in the overall category.

She singled out Sharine Ignacio who won several titles in the Central American y Caribbean Championships, including the overall title. Other Aruban athlete who distinguished themselves in that competition were Yusmary Villalobos, who won the overall feminine title, Hemradj Mulai, who finished in second place, Guiver Scholten, who was ranked in first place and Guiver Scholten & Yusmary Villalobos, who won the ultimate trophy in the mixed pairs category.

In two week, the four top winners of this weekend’s competition will be traveling to Grenada to participate in the Central American & Caribbean Championships.

Two weeks ago, in Lima, Peru, during the South American Championships, Hemradj Mulai, landed top honors in his category of Bantamweight.

Aruba’s Giovanni Arendsz, President of Aruba’s Bodybuilding & Powerlifting Association and the President of the Central American & Caribbean Body Building & Fitness Association, joined the judges Igmar Franken, Anthony Salas, Rolf Fluonia, Vasti Musenhoffer, Jeff Kusmus, test judges Gauchi Paulina & Ludwig Leito in wishing the winners best of luck in the upcoming challenging events.
