According to the Dutch, due to an increase in the number of coronavirus infections in Aruba, there is an increased risk.
Yesterday with 102 new cases and 510 active cases the First Servant got on camera and reminded us all there are rules. We must obey rules, not for her, but for Aruba.
And she is right, if we want to crawl out of crisis we should try to move less, wash our hands more.
Which brings us to Easter.
GOA must come out and EXPLICITLY ban camping.
Big ovaries are required now: No camping.
As far as I know, GOA has not made the decision yet, or some other wishy-washy excuse, but we will tumble deeper into weeds if we turn a blind eye on camping.
We’re now paying the price for March 18th.
Apparently, permits have been given out for food sales from home, in honor of the holiday. Those who usually participate with their field-kitchen at Plaza Betico Croes, were granted permit to sell their menus from home. That encouraged a great deal of circulation, in chase of creole dishes, and the AVP drive-by event must have contributed.
The result: The Netherlands upped the risk associated with travel to Aruba, and our numbers are climbing.
New Measure: No alcohol drinking in public places, which means no happy hour on the beach, but that’s not enough, gotta explicitly say: NO CAMPING
