Noord — Families vacationing at the Caribbean Palm Village Resort consider the dynamic activities coordinator at the resort as their own family member. They often credit her with the total success of their family’s stay at the resort, as she keeps guests of all ages active and entertained playing Bingo, doing water aerobics, enjoying group activities and inventing new games with as much enthusiasm as she had on her first day on the job.
Mislady started at Caribbean Palm Village Resort at the restaurant but thanks to her exceptional people skills she was transferred to the activities department,
Mislady recalls that sixteen years ago she came to Aruba from Havana, Cuba, to star in the Havana Tropical review at the Alhambra Roseland ballroom. A young Aruban man then stole her heart and when he followed her to Cuba at the end of her assignment here, and asked her father for her hand in marriage, she said yes, and followed her love and her destiny back to Aruba.
Happily married for fourteen years, she is now a mother of two, a boy of 13 and a girl of 2, and she uses her parenting skills on the job, she says, loving every aspect of the interaction with guests and colleagues.
Management, board members and staffers joined interim general manager Astrid Muller in congratulating Mislady for her career landmark, and thanked her for coming to work each day with great commitment, which contributed to her department being named first runner-up in the Department of the Year competition. Her energy and initiative have also resulted in many extra mile awards, as she regularly goes above and beyond her normal duties. Nominated for the Employee of the Quarter title just recently, Mislady is a great asset to the resort, and we hope she is prepared to put in at least another five years in the activities department, says Muller.
