The Aruba Convention Bureau for North America in conjunction with the Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association invited a group of meeting planners for a first hand experience of the island’s tourist product. The group arrived on the island for an action-packed weekend sampling all the island had to offer, as the last Destination Review for the year.
Renaissance Aruba Resort went all out treating the dignitaries to a Night in White on Renaissance Private Island, a 40-acre private tropical retreat with white sand beaches and crystal clear waters.
The evening took off with a site inspection of both resorts, the Renaissance Marina Hotel and the Renaissance Ocean Suites, then group members escorted by General Manager Paul Gielen and Sales Manager Ariana Santiago hopped on the tender boats en route to the island across the channel.
On Renaissance Private Island, the culinary team prepared an interactive buffet at the edge of the water featuring mouthwatering specialties. On the menu: Aruban Seafood Chowder, Sushi and Maki Sushi a la minute, Teppanyaki yellow fin tuna with tropical salsa, Steamed Shrimp from the local waters and Seafood Ceviche with coconut milk. The grill-masters carved and sliced Argentinean Churrasco, Lamb Chops and Marinated Chicken Breast, laced with Green Pepper sauce and Chimichurri Salsa, with interesting sides, for the main course. The display also featured a salad bar including Caesar with all the trimmings, Basil Flavored Red Plum Tomato Carpaccio, Antipasti Bell Peppers & Marinated Portobello Mushrooms. The Renaissance pastry chef delivered a stellar assortment of sweets for dessert including Chocolate Cake, Pumpkin Tiramisu, Mango Cheesecake, freshly baked Papaya Crumble & Fruit Flambé with Vanilla Ice Cream.
