You are invited to view a new collection by Massiel Genser, Caribbean Queen for the month of July 2012, at the Caribbean Queen store, Palm Beach Village Mall.
Our featured artist was born in the Dominican Republic but raised in Aruba, an island she loves and cherishes. Her colorful Caribbean roots shine clearly though her Tutti Frutti collection of earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets, hair bands and more, currently on display at Caribbean Queen, at the Palm Beach Plaza Mall.
Massiel Altagracia, nicknamed Massy was inspired by an artistic uncle, starting to explore her own creative gifts early in life, experimented with different materials. This process of discovery helped reveal her inner artist. “I defined myself today as a self-taught artisan, and contemporary accessory designer,” she explains.
Massy’s unique work features a variety of one-of-a-kind pieces, utilizing different colored wire as a point of departure combining the flexible and pliable material with glass and wood beads, natural seeds and mineral stones. Each piece she makes reflects the mood of the artist and his inspiration, she explains, in a particular moment of creation, thus every piece has a unique pattern and palette, lending the adornments singular and individual character.
Tutti Fruitti has been displayed and selling on the island in different locations, however the collection at Caribbean Queen is the biggest to date. Massy is also accepting customized orders from locals and visitors and would be happy to come up with spectacular wirework for a special occasion. Beauty, she says, is an inner reflection; it is just a matter of reflecting your inner self onto the external things we like.
The collection currently on display at the Caribbean Queen store at the Palm Beach Plaza Mall will be available for sale through the month of July.
