Promoting Fun, Friends and Golf, the annual Bugaloe Open unfolded at Tierra del Sol Golf Course this past weekend, with eighty enthusiastic golfers playing on the course designed by renowned Robert Trent Jones Jr., which is the only 18-hole championship golf course on Aruba.
First place winners Liberty Ter Weeme and Aureliano Chopitea were joined by second place finalists Michael and Lone v/d Hofstede, and third place finalists Floyd Nedd and Adam Williamson at the award ceremony which took place at Bugaloe Beach Bar & Grill, on Palm Beach, to receive their prizes.
Other winners, also receiving valuable prizes included closest to the pin on hole #3, Neils Stedehouder, on hole #7, Michael v/d Berg, on hole #13, Larry Nedd, and on hole #17, Ray Perez.
The tournament raised funds for two very worthy causes, the active and dynamic Aruba Autism Foundation and Jakes Help from Heaven Foundation, founded in 2011, a non-profit dedicated to supporting individuals with multiple medical challenges and disabilities.
The tournament was backed by generous local sponsors such as De Palm Tours, Pepia Est, 080 Bar, ASD restaurant equipment & supplies, Balashi Beer Brewery, Playa Liqueur, B55 restaurant, Super Food, and Caribbean Overseas.
