Hi Bati Bleki,
You know that GOA-SVB has begun the agonizing process of demanding the re-payment of the loon subsidies, without any reason other than what they say, that the decrease in income during the pandemic was less than reported.
What was supposed to be a helping hand from GOA to make sure people did not lose their jobs and livelihoods during the pandemic, has now become a nightmare, a financial burden.
We as citizens have no means of fighting back.
I did not want to post this because people know my company and I am trying to fight this arbitrary imposition, but if you post it anonymously, I will be grateful.
Obviously, it can be something interesting for one of your columns.
I have a small business, my sector was among the first one to close back in 2020, we were hit very hard, Now GOA is hitting us again.
My business, unfortunately has never recovered, and is shutting down permanently in July.
But it is certainly time for everybody who got this email demanding the repayment of subsidies to NOT just pay it, but send a bezwaarschrift asking for the whys.
Hi Bati Bleki,
Dutifully I paid every cent of overpaid loon subsidy, a medium four figure amount, I called, I emailed, I sent bank records, and promptly this week got again a threatening letter for SVB, that they will take action if I don’t pay.
My business is small, it produced a product which became redundant, post-pandemic, I am working hard to reinvent myself and still feed my family.
I am asking myself why SVB cannot keep track of payments received, and why this umbrella-threat was sent out to ALL customers, including the compliant ones. Computers, I know. Removing all common-sense from the business.
Hi Bati Bleki
In my stupidity I asked for rekening overzichts expecting to find a clean slate and was STUNNED to find pages and pages over pages of small charges adding to thousands of RENTE this and that, and all my ground taxes which I diligently paid in installments, unaccounted for and still owed.
You will say, it’s your computers’ fault, and there is nothing you can do; and to think you want to continue to digitilize, is mind blowing.
This maximizes the burden on locals, and it seems to be the main purpose of our government machine, be it green or yellow. The working class is subjected to harassment, and constant hammering of taxation.
I totally get the gray economy. It manages to avoid all that
Hi Bati Bleki
The Aruba Tax Department recently issued the 2021 profit tax forms. These forms have been sent via regular mail. Unfortunately, this tax year the Tax Authorities did NOT offer the opportunity to ACCOUNTANTS to collect the tax forms for our clients. As such we kindly request you to send us the tax forms as soon as you receive them.
Please note that the deadline for the filing of the 2021 profit tax return and the payment of the profit tax due is 31 May 2022.
However, a filing and payment extension of six months can be requested ultimately on 31 May 2022 by filing a preliminary profit tax return. This return will be based on the last filed profit tax return.
We note that late filing of the tax return may lead to fines.
In order to file your 2021 final profit tax return on time and prevent fines, we kindly request you to provide us with the tax forms as soon as possible but ultimately by April 15, 2022.
We hope to have informed you sufficiently with the above. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
So now, the ACCOUNTANTS, have to beg their clients to hand-deliver the PRINTED forms, sent by snail mail, to home and office addresses.
Why can’t we just download them??
Or Ask the ACCOUNTANTS to fetch them??
Why make it so complicated?
