Let’s Do It!

The 4th Annual Diabetes Run & Walk hosted by Botica di Servicio and Medcare Clinic is less than four weeks away!

It doesn’t matter whether you are young or old, starting runner or very experienced, you can make the difference on Sunday, November 14th of 2021. The 10K course is set to depart from Botica Eagle, through the high-rise hotels until the Cove Mall, and back. The 5K course will turn around at Blue Residences.

Diabetes is a serious problem in Aruba. Statistics show that 16.2% of Arubans are diabetic compared to the 8.3% of the world’s population. Half of the diabetic patients are not aware of the fact that they are diabetic, and do not get the medical help they need. are running to raise awareness on Diabetes and shed light on the disease that is so present in our community.

This run & walk event is for a good cause where you can make a change; not only are you helping others by raising awareness, but you’re helping yourself! A healthy lifestyle reduces the risk of becoming a diabetic. We want to emphasize more on this day how important it is to keep moving and that this can be done as an enjoyable activity with the whole family. So, get your team ready and sign up!

The race will include overall prizes for all 7 categories. Participate in the run & walk that suits you best:

  • 200 meters kids run (4-5 years old)
  • 400 meters kids run (6-7 years old)
  • 800 meters kids run (8-9 years old)
  • 1500 meters kids run (10-11 & 12-13 years old)
  • 3000 meters youth-run (14-16 years old)
  • 5 km run & walk (17 years & older)
  • 10 km run (17 years & older)

Register for 15 florins for kids & youth and 25 florins for adults. For this amount, you will receive:

  • Commemorative dry-fit shirt
  • Unique finisher’s medals
  • Goodie bag
  • Fruits & refreshments

With your registration fee, you contribute directly to the good cause as all proceeds are donated to Fundacion Diabetes Aruba.

You may pick up your bib number and race packet at Patrishi store located at Emmastraat 3, Oranjestad. You can do this from September 27th to November 12th. The store is open from Tuesday to Saturday, and from: 10 A.M. – 6 P.M. There will be no race-day bib pick up or payment on November 14th, 2021.
