The volunteer-based Blue Energy committee of the Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino opted to spread holiday cheer by giving less fortunate children beautiful Christmas gifts this year.
They shared the idea of “Let’s adopt a child for Christmas,” gift drive with their resort colleagues and within 2 days had team members sign up, pick a gift from the list of kids participating, buy the gift, wrap it up and deliver it to the resort where it was collected to be distributed to children between 9 months and 12 years, by the White-Yellow Cross Coordinator, Monique Giel.
A grand total of 66 gifts were purchase, in addition to Care Packages of diapers, baby formula, and clothing gifted to young teenage mothers, which brought the total of generous, contributing team members to 75.
Hilton Blue Energy, representative who coordinated the drive was Jessica Valbuena, who is the committee’s champion Board Member in charge of “Travel with a Purpose.”
On December 20th, as pictured here, the Blue Energy Committee delivered all gifts to the headquarters of Wit Gele Kruis, the White-Yellow Cross, where they were received by director Gino Goeloe.
