La Cabana Takes a Trip to the Future

Associates of La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club invited students of Mon Plaisir elementary school for a day of learning, and fun.

Under the slogan World Class Happens Here, La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club has been busy promoting activities with its guests and its associates.

On March 26th, twenty-two students visited the resort for a day of training, working together to perhaps become one day World Class Future Associates.

The students spent the time at the resort enjoying an interactive morning presentation by Véron Ypma, of the department of Human Resources. One of the topics covered at the presentation was Hospitality Industry and Application Procedure, in which the resort prepared the students for their future job and internship applications.

The day continued at various departments. Every student experienced a total of two different departments for 45 minutes, each. They got instructions from the associates and worked together side by side following the resort’s room-attendants, engineers, food & Beverage experts and administrators.  They got an inside perspective of things, and an introduction to the way Aruba’s Hospitality Industry operates. Veron, an HR Management Trainee herself, reports it was a much-enjoyed day of learning and insight for the associates and their teenage guest, who knows some of them, might pick careers with the industry one day!
