Interval International, the worldwide provider of vacation services, recognized La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club for its participation in this year’s fundraising initiative benefiting the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) Education Foundation. David Callaghan, Interval’s vice president of resort sales and service, presented Foundation executives with a $60,000 donation, earlier in the month. The funds were raised by Aruba’s shared ownership resorts among them La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club who generously contributed to the cause. The CHTA education foundation is incidentally chaired by Tom Pas, who was a resident of Aruba in the past, when he managed a number of hotels here.

As part of its mission, it provides people throughout the region with an awareness of the industry’s varied career opportunities, as well as technical and professional development. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded US$1.5 million in scholarships and grants to applicants who demonstrate a strong commitment to the hotel and tourism industry. Aruban students who wish to pursue a career in hospitality as also eligible to apply. Visit www.chtaeducationfoundation.com, or skype : caribbeaneducationfoundation.
