A Watapana, a Wayaka and a Mispel were planted over the last few days at La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club in celebration of Earth Week 2009.
The theme for the week long festivities included the important “Rs,” namely Re-Live, Re-Educate, Re-Forest & Re-Nurture, beside the three “Rs” which are already observed at the resort, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club also organized its 8th annual recycled art competition, and in the near future will observe the World Red Cross Day, Family Day, Global Engineering Day, World Ocean Day, and the 16th annual Aruba Reef Care, all helping to raise environmental awareness in associates and members.
A number of interesting lectures were organized this week on health and wellbeing, on recycling, on turtle preservation and Bio-diesel, ozone layer preservation and traditional Aruban architecture which is featured in our pictures as part of the Arikok Park presentation. The tree planting was also attended by the General Manager Joe Najjar and various resort executives.
