La Cabana Beach Resort & Casino marks 3 decades of Memorable Vacation, with multiple events.

The 30th Grand Anniversary Celebration of La Cabana Beach Resort & Casino took place mid-December over a special luncheon in the Chit Chat Café.

During lunch an informal award ceremony announced the nominees and subsequent winners of the Associate of the Year, Supervisor of the Year, Team of the Year and Manager of the Year, titles.

Over the past decades those awards were celebrated in great style with lavish banquets and dance parties, but with 2020 being an exceptional year, the award ceremony was held in-house, and enjoyed the full attendance and support of associates and members of management.

In his address ahead of the ceremony, General Manager Joe Najjar share his pride at marking La Cabana’s 30th anniversary, standing for thirty years of Memorable Vacations, enjoyed by up to three generations of loyal owners who make the resort their home away from home!

He thanked his team for thirty years of dedication and passion and praised associates who worked day and night, 365 days a year, at delivering those vacation experiences to guests, making them all feel special and appreciated. With increased optimism, he said, and joined by his dynamic management team, he expressed great hope for a bright future ahead, and a healthy, happy 2021.

While wishing La Cabana’s Team and its hard working Board of Directors Happy Holidays, Najjar also acknowledge the extra effort invested in facing 2020 and its challenging Covid19 lockdown and upstart.

Assistant General Manager Jessica Franken, joined Najjar in praising the remarkable group of individuals who helped take the resort thought the initial lockdown, March to May, and spearheaded the island’s soft opening in May, followed for the return of tourism in July.

Later that afternoon, the South-East parking lot of the resort was teeming with activity as all associates collected a traditional holiday gift, a ham, as the center piece of their holiday meal.

A special dinner was served at the Chit Chat Café during the evening hours, for associates working the afternoon shift.

On the following day, associates enjoyed a game of KAHOOT for prizes and surprises, and were showered with gifts during the annual Christmas Raffle.

Many thanks to the culinary brigade who enhanced the events by serving specialty holiday foods, such as Seafood Chowder, Waldorf Salad, Ceviche, and seasonal fruits as appetizers, followed by Mediterranean rice, Beef Tenderloin with Pepper Corn sauce, Shrimp Etouffee, and hand carved Christmas Ham with peach and rum-raisin sauce. The yuletide dessert station was especially pleasing with fancy Yule Log pastries, assorted cakes and sweet quesillo.

While all festivities were held in house, at a social distance with mouth coverings, they were still moving and rewarding, ushering 2020 out and welcoming 2021 in, with a promise of economic recovery for the island and its hospitality industry.
