La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club hosted a most-enjoyable lunch party at the resort conference room in honor of the winners of the Associate of the Month competition, for January, February, March & April 2009. General Manager Joe Najjar praised the resort associates for their tireless work and for the excellent inter-personal, and inter-departmental relationships they maintain. Ceremony emcee was the resort’s first-hire, Debby Koolman, and she did an excellent job presenting the winners.
The gathering also acknowledged the contribution of the top Supervisor of the first semester.
The winner for January was Yves Andre of the Engineering Department. Other nominees included Wanda Winterdal, Housekeeping Department, Nixon Castillo, Recreation Department and Stanley Pieters, Security Department.
The winner for February was Vicente Guerrero, Food & Beverage Department, with just one other nominee in the running, Miguel Rasmijn, Engineering Department.
The winner for March was Edgar Garcia, Engineering Department. Other nominees included Luis Gonzalez, Security Department, Aristibulo Montoya, Pool & Beach Department and Salima Nazim, Recreation Department.
The winner for April was Gilberta Koolman, Front Office Department. Other nominees were Jacqueline Rosel, Food & Beverage Department and Naisa Nurse, Recreation Department.
The housekeeping department received an honorable mention for being very supportive of the resort’s activities during the first semester. A valuable member of that department Clara Acevedo, also landed the top honor as Supervisor of the Semester with two other outstanding individuals as her runner-ups, Hector Hernandez, Pool & Beach Department and Lindoro Vera, Security Department.
