La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club Inks a Formal Agreement with Local Construction Company, Konstructiva NV, to Renovate the Resort

La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club’s plan to invest $25 Million dollar in an ambitious renovation-project became a reality this week when a formal agreement was inked between board representative Anthony Wever, General Manager, Joe Najjar and General Contractor Alex Louvera, marking the actual start of construction.

While the resort has already undergone renovations before, in various areas, the current architectural and interior design plans, according to Najjar, are the most extensive in its 17 years of existence.

“The resort,” he says, “will be renovated from floor to ceiling, tip to toe, over a period of three years, wing after wing, rooms will be put out of order in 12 different phases and completely overhauled by Konstruktiva NV, an experienced and reputable local firm who won the open bid for the project.”

The renovations will naturally create challenges for the always busy property, Najjar adds, and for that reason P.I.P.A. was created, an internal organization designed to inform both guests and associates about the process and facilitate its operation with the goal of protecting visitors’ vacation experience while still allowing the work to go on.

P.I.P.A. – People in Positive Action – was born as part of the preparations for the construction. The initiative intends to also support associates emotionally and spiritually as they deal with the ‘under construction’ disruption. It will surely have a trickle down effect so that each department is in the loop, aware of the goings-on and progress.

Najjar was also pleased to say that the special assessments levied by the resort in order to realize the renovation, were well-received by owners who are very pleased with the upcoming upgrades.
