Associates arriving at the Renaissance Convention Center for the annual party were welcomed at the door by General Manager Joe Najjar, the Executive Committee and the resort’s Department Heads, while Gaitas Las Unicas offered traditional musical entertainment.
With Jessica Franken as the evening’s emcee, the show got on the road according to plan with a warm greeting and a Christmas blessing.
First on the program, Recognitions of Perfect Attendance, for associates working at the resort for 15 years or more. Recognitions were also given to a number of committees, doing an excellent job during the year, such as the Social Events Committee, the Eagle Team Committee and the Green, Health & Safety Committee. Associates marked a moment of silence in honor of two very dear yet departed colleagues, Norma Bendana and Edwin Hoek.
The culinary team of the Renaissance Convention Center prepared a delicious abundant buffet dinner which the associates enjoyed while singer Claudius Phillips and his band Oreo set up to provide dance music all night.
Before the announcement of the Associates of the Year, Supervisor of the Year, Manager of the Year and Team of the Year, 2011, General Manager Joe Najjar expressed how proud he was at the resort’s just-completed renovation and how pleased he is with other significant improvements taking place this year, in reinforcement of the resort’s Vision, Mission and Values. “As we continue our journey into 2012,” he said, “we should challenge ourselves to pay more attention to details, to commit to a better follow up and for open and direct communications with our guests and our peers, getting it right every time, on the first time!”
