Jim Tormey recognized for 25 years of loyalty to the island

Jim Torney, an artist from NY who has been coming back to Aruba for 26 years was recognized recently at Caribbean Palm Village Resort for his tremendous support of the island and its people.

Jim who stayed at the Divi Divi Beach Resort at the time found himself one day on a tour of a construction site. He bought his new timeshare condo right there and then and returned the following year to check on his investment. Which was thriving, under the leadership of resort developer John Chemali!

Chemali, Jim recounts, must have been the most generous developer under the sun, hosting lavish Developer Night Parties and including the rental of a car with the use of the condo. Over the years the Tormeys bought about ten different vacation weeks at Caribbean Palm Village Resort, returning to Aruba a number of times a year and maintaining a warm relationship with the developer and his wife, Glenda. Recently the Tomeys have both discovered cruising, nevertheless they do return to their home away from home, the Caribbean Palm Village Resort at least once a year.

Interim General Manager Astrid Muller thanked Jim for his friendship, while he posed with his commemorative plaque holding on to his vacation cocktail. When on vacation, do as vacationers do!
