He we are again, five months later, focusing on financial support.
For companies, so they won’t go under.
Labor law reform, so they could trim their overhead.
FASE is coming to an end with no replacement.
Wage subsidy is expiring.
Medium and small company support is finishing.
Is survival possible?
We have spent 600M sitting on the fence with no improvement, no significant change.
Covid19 Wave I came and went, then we had a full blast party, which GOA says is our fault, yes, partially, but I did not hear GOA owning its own responsibility for the outbreak, in yesterday’s press conference; we’re mid Wave II, now.
People are on edge, one court case brings on a populous demonstrations and arrests; one insta post, brings on a vicious mob lynching, and a ruinous counter annihilation.
BUT GOA’s inability to structurally convert its tax income – our hard earned money – into a true dushi bida for all of us, is accepted?
You did not go into the street protesting the 600M spent in the past months on Band-Aids and Tums. You didn’t even post one objection.
How do you explain that?
I had the distinct displeasure reading the memorandum by our former MinPres sent to his “friend Mark,” this week.
Such blatant disrespect for Aruba’s people. And it went down without a ripple.
He who has caused the largest financial disaster and has bankrupted our island, put some empty words on paper and PUBLISHED them, focusing on a heart & brains combo in some cynical intent to influence, and just made things a whole lot WORSE for all of us.
And no one protested.
The Dutch are very informed about charlatan politicians. They know, they have some too, and with the former MinPres memorandum they were proven right again: The man is completely missing any sense of decency and humanity towards the real needs of our people, and the need for good governance.
For those who missed the hogwash doc:
He goes on to talk about Status Aparte, and how capable we are to handle everything except security, which the kingdom provides, and how wonderful we are, a model country in tourism, innovation, technology, ecology and climate.
How grateful the Dutch should be for having Aruba, an active post in the Americas.
How the concept of Boss in his/her Own Home combined with the patronage of Madre Patria is a genius formula, which the founding fathers, Betico Croes, Henny Eman, Watty Vos, Mito Croes and Nel Oduber, were masters at balancing.
How he wished the Dutch would be guided by Cruason & Huicio – heart & Brain? Heart & Reason? Heart & Law? – when it comes to Aruba because it isn’t fair to impose outside supervision, cooperation si, supervision by an outside entity, no.
He is definitely off his meds and drinking Kool-Aid. The man is completely missing any sense of decency and humanity towards the real needs of our people, and the need for good governance.
And I am protesting!
