Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino Celebrates Earth Week With a Packed Calendar of Activities

Palm Beach — The Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino put together a complete calendar of activities in celebration of Earth Week, which took place from March 20th to March 26th, 2017. The activities were designed to inform, engage and entertain guests, team members and the local Aruban community.

The celebrations kicked off with an earth-themed Manager’s Reception Cocktail Party featuring a delicious Green Aloe Punch.

Resort team members and guests then teamed up with the University of Aruba for a Beach Cleanup, hitting the island’s beaches around the California Lighthouse to pick up trash and marine debris washed up from the ocean. The group that collected the most trash was rewarded with a fun prize.

Combining fun and education, guests and associates were also invited to participate in a hike through Arikok National Park. After hiking through the park and learning more about its flora and fauna from the park’s rangers, the teams enjoyed healthy snacks and some refreshing drinks.

The resort’s flagship Sunset Grille restaurant was also part of the celebration, turning off the lights at 8:30pm to host a candlelit dinner on its deck and terrace. The special dinner featured a three-course menu, highlighting natural organic ingredients. For the first course, diners enjoyed a salad of mixed lettuce, sun dried tomato, grilled artichoke, roasted pepper and a lime vinaigrette. The second course followed, with a lime and mint cured organic salmon, served with celery, compote, egg and croutons. The final dish paired organic chicken breast with corn fritters and organic roasted vegetables.

Mira Solo bar also went dark at 8:30pm in honor of Earth Hour, with tea lights and live acoustic music making for a romantic ambiance.

One of the highlights of the week was a visit by members of Centro Man na Obra, a local charity that works with special needs clients. The representatives of Centro Man na Obra presented a workshop on the art of candlemaking, helping the Hilton team members create gorgeous candles.

True to its Executive Statement, the Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino is guided by the company’s vision to fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality, in business and when it comes to its most precious resource, its people.
