The recent Associates’ Meeting at La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club had many of the resort’s employees in attendance. Assistant General Manager Jessica Franken talked about the upcoming renovation project and also shared the stellar results of the resort’s Guest Satisfaction stats in the first quarter of 2008.
The department of Human Resources prepared a loaded agenda, entertaining and informing associates regarding all current issues covering all aspects of the hotel operation while PIPA, People in Positive Action, a group of resort employees who formed a committee in charge of facilitating the renovations made a fun contribution by staging a sketch, role playing a scene where visitors check in with the hotel undergoing extensive renovations.
At the end of a most-enjoyable session an unexpected surprise prepared in honor of General Manager Joe Najjar electrified the room. Joe who received a much-deserved award from Bluegreen Corporation previously, as Manager of the Year, true to his usual humble demeanor, never fussed or advertised his citation, and understated the achievement. His staff however disagreed and decided to make a “big deal,†delivering a mega-award ceremony under a shower of confetti to the surprised Joe, at the Associates’ General Meeting.
