The Cheerleaders of the Washington Redskins on the island for a photo shoot entertained an enthusiastic crowd on the Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa pool deck, for a fun variety show, on Wednesday.
The Washington Redskins Cheerleaders stayed at the Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa to shoot their 2008/9 swimsuit calendar, and returned this year to shoot another edition, that of the 2012/13 calendar. The group arrived last week and has been working hard to produce lovely images of the island, adding even more spark to the hottest professional entertainers in sports and their most exciting calendar project, since their last visit here.
This group of cheerleaders travels and makes many appearances throughout the year on behalf of the Washington Redskins pro football team. The group also travels to entertain US troops everywhere around the globe.
The Redskins Cheerleaders are celebrating their 50th anniversary of the founding of the squad, this year. The First Ladies of Football have a great tradition and legacy. This year’s Redskins Cheerleaders were chosen from among 250 women. From there, 40 were chosen for the squad.
Their show on Wednesday started with an opening number in cocktail dresses then they presented different field routines as well as sideline routines to various popular songs. The swimsuit walk was the highlight of the evening, and was loudly cheered by the audience. On Sunday, the colorful group played on the beach, including a game of touch football and volleyball.
The squad’s makeup includes women who are Ph.D candidates, assistant principals, triple majors in college, beauty queens as well as owners of their own companies.
Aruba will surely benefit from a number of excellent promotional opportunities during a number of games in the fall, promoting the island in an outstanding market.
