Launching on July 9th for a 2 week program (9-21), Art Rules Aruba returns for the third time offering an intensive workshop program in Photography, Fashion, Film, Dance, DJ, Street Art, Music & Performance or Theater for teens between 12 -26.
Presented by RBC Royal Bank in partnership with the Pancake Gallery Foundation, Art Rules Aruba has become the biggest Arts program for the youth on the Island with already 150 applicants for the program since registration launched 2 weeks ago.
Registration is still open and with classes thought by international professionals from around the world, this years’ program seems to now become the biggest since the programs’ successful launch in 2010.
If its not for it’s wide popularity gained over previous years, it could be for the fact that organizers keep going up a notch each year they keep the program exceptional by introducing the most unique artists and educators from around the world.
Presenting this year, noted Surinam-Dutch Actress and Director Samora Bergtop to join as the teacher for ARA’s Theater workshop.
Bergtop is a BA Graduate from the Theater School of Amsterdam. She is a professional Actress with almost 15 years of experience in theater, musicals, film and commericals. On stage Samora Bergtop has worked with several Theater companies including Theater Company Rauwster with whom she produced several plays including her solo “Storie” and in TV and Film Bergtop has worked also with several noted Dutch production companies including her most returning producer, Endemol.
In 2008 Samora is selected to play the most anticipated role of Sadie in the Dutch Broadway Musical ”Billy Holiday”. Her stunning performance leading to a nomination for the highly respected Jonny Kraaikamp Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Coming to Aruba to offer her perspectives and experiences from within the world of theater and film, Samora Bergtop is exited to share her skills with the aspiring young actors and directors of Aruba.
Joining Samora is retunring ARA teacher, Educator, Actor, Writer and Director Jordan Mahome, with more than 20 years experience in the theater and a professional career in acting for several big screen Hollywood films, TV show and commercials. Yes, one can assume that it is going to be another special summer for the youth of Aruba! As Art Rules is back! The teachers seem to be ready, are you?
