The General Café has found a cozy and inviting home within the General Store in Camacuri, and over the past few years has developed a steady and loyal following, people from all walks of life and professions who drop in frequently to enjoy the café’s culinary expertise.
Within the next few days the café will be inaugurating its refreshed location, a full service buffet restaurant, built as an extension to the General Store on the right hand side of the building.
Lunch goers will be pleased with the stylish and contemporary interior design of the food counters, the check out area, the spacious dining room, the comfortable rest rooms and of course the available parking around the store.
The refreshed café will open to the public in the first week of October with a fun contest. Patrons coming for lunch will be asked to photograph their entrees and send them to the restaurant manager by e-mail. Those who enter a photograph will be eligible to participate in a raffle for a month-worth of free lunches!!!
The success of the General Café is due largely to its exciting selection of different dishes every day, offering a hearty home-made soup, and four international or local entrees.
In addition to serving a different menu every day of the week, six days a week, Sunday features a famous BBQ with chicken, steak and ribs or a special main course.
Those on the run can grab a wrap filled with Asian Chicken, Turkey & Cheese, Roast beef, or Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato.
The plentiful salads are always tempting and crunchy, Chicken & Bacon, Chicken Caesar and Chef Salad.
The General Café shares its creative cooks with Calloway Corporation, the most modern food plant on the island supplying all the airlines landing here with top-notch catering, also feeding all hungry clients at the Savaneta General Café, behind the General Store.
