Fox 26 Morning News Features Aruban Cuisine

The Arubans on US TV

A culinary team from Aruba who went to Houston Texas for the annual Wine & Food week, converted over 600 guests to soul-food lovers when they served them Caribbean Lobster in Conch-Curry Stew, accompanied by Madame Jeanette pepper Bruschetta and Scallion Corn Pancakes.

The traveling Chefs even got to cook on TV, on the FOX 26 Morning News demonstrating exactly how it’s done, Aruban style.

Pictured here Chef Scott from Aqua Grill Restaurant, Chef Bernard from the Holiday Inn SunSpree and Chef Maarten who is the dedicated chef of the Sunset Grille Restaurant, at the Radisson Aruba Resort, Casino & Spa.

Maarten explains that the local ‘stoba,’ as transported to Houston, was very enthusiastically received. It was made with lobster and conch, laced with home-grown herbs — in Aruba, Chef Maarten grows his herbs in the Larimar spa garden.

A Fox Network executive who was present at the Wine & Food Week and at the FOX 26 Morning News taping reports: “It was GREAT… DELICIOUS… and downright YUMMY!”
